Serve Love

Homelessness in San Diego remains a significant and complex challenge impacting thousands across the city. The issue is shaped by factors such as a shortage of affordable housing, economic inequality, and limited access to mental health care. While local governments and non-profits continue working to provide shelters and support, many individuals still struggle to meet basic needs and find pathways to long-term stability.

At Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church, we are committed to serving our unhoused neighbors through compassionate, consistent action. For over 30 years, we’ve hosted Serve Love, our Sunday Night Ministry, offering a warm meal and a welcoming space every week.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Prep Love – Saturdays, 10 AM–12 PM
Join us in preparing fresh produce for Sunday’s dinner. You’ll help wash and chop fruits and vegetables in a relaxed, friendly setting—perfect for connecting with others. Seated tasks are available, and no experience is necessary.

  • Sunday Prep – Sundays, 2 PM–4 PM
Help with final meal preparations as we cook, warm, and bring all the dishes together.

  • Serve Love – Sundays, 4 PM–7 PM
Greet guests, assist with dinner service at 5 PM, and help with cleanup as the evening wraps up. Come for any portion that fits your schedule—every hand helps!
